Fringing on the great Boreal forests to the north and mixed Ag land to the south the landscape of NE Saskatchewan offers a unique mix of habitat and wildlife. Vast openness is abruptly guarded by a line trees running east-west across the north. In this unique landscape you can encounter some of the world's most sought after game. Moose wade in the swamps, muskeg and mixed forests, White-tailed deer call home to both the forests and the prairies, Mule deer and Elk travel huge distances across the farmland and every where lives our vast number of Black bears. With overlapping seasons and different opportunities, it can be a challenge to pack for. You may have a number of big game tags in your pocket at one time and if you're like me, you'll also be keeping an eye out for the quiet little Roughed or Spruce grouse.
